Frequently asked questions

When will full-color 3D printing be available?+

The printer is being commissioned now. We are reserving slots in the first production runs — contact us to be added to the priority list and receive a heads-up as soon as we open scheduling.

What file format do you need for color?+

Textured OBJ, colored 3MF, PLY with vertex colors, or VRML/WRL are all ideal. If you have a plain STL plus reference photos we can add color for you.

How is this different from painting a regular 3D print?+

Color is inside the material, not on top. There are no brush strokes, no primer, and no paint chipping. Fine details like logos and text render at printer resolution rather than the width of a paintbrush.

How fine is the detail?+

Layers are 10–20 microns and the printhead fires 3.9 picolitre droplets at up to 1440 × 2400 DPI, so text, panel lines, and facial features stay readable on parts only a few centimetres tall.

Can you print clear and colored parts together?+

Yes. Transparent and full-color resin print in the same continuous build, so cutaways, lenses, encapsulated details, and clear bases do not need to be made as separate pieces and glued.

How are supports removed?+

They dissolve in water. That means no cutting marks or sanding scars, and it makes hollow shells, lattices, and deep internal cavities practical to print.

How durable is a full-color print?+

Very durable for indoor use, and the cured material is low-odor and skin-safe. For long-term outdoor display we recommend a UV clear coat, which we can apply as a finishing step.

Can you print my company logo in exact brand colors?+

Yes. We can color-match to Pantone or CMYK references during setup using custom ICC profiles.

Can you print onto an object I already have?+

Often, yes. The same system does direct UV printing on 400+ base materials — acrylic, wood, metal, glass, leather, plastics — plus direct-to-film transfers for apparel. Send photos and dimensions and we will confirm.

What is the largest part you can print in one piece?+

The build area is 420 × 330 × 130 mm. Larger models can be split into sections and assembled with hidden joints.
