Laser Cutting & Engraving — 150W CO2 Laser


Laser cutting uses a tightly focused beam of light to slice through flat material with a cut line thinner than a credit card edge. Because nothing physically touches the workpiece, there is no tool pressure, no chipping, and no need for clamps or fixtures — the edges come out clean and the detail level is limited only by your artwork.
Our machine is a 150W CO2 laser, which is significantly more powerful than the hobby lasers most shops run. That extra wattage means thicker cuts in a single pass, faster throughput on production runs, and cleaner edges in acrylic and hardwood. The same machine also engraves, so one file can both cut a shape and etch artwork onto it.
What a 150W CO2 laser can do
Power matters. A 150W tube cuts up to roughly 20 mm acrylic and 18 mm plywood or MDF in a single pass, and handles thin veneers, papers and fabrics at very high speed without scorching. Lower-power machines have to make multiple passes for the same job, which slows things down and leaves rougher, darker edges.
On acrylic, a CO2 laser produces a flame-polished, glass-clear edge straight off the bed — no sanding, no polishing. On wood and MDF, cuts are crisp and square, ready for gluing or finishing. Engraving is done with the same beam at lower power, giving photographic-quality raster images and deep, tactile vector engraving.
Materials we cut and engrave
Cut: plywood, hardwood, MDF, cast and extruded acrylic, Delrin, leather, felt, cork, cardstock, paper, fabric, rubber gasket stock and thin veneers.
Engrave: everything above plus glass, anodized aluminum, coated and powder-coated metals, stainless with marking compound, slate, stone tile, ceramic, painted surfaces and many plastics.
We do not cut PVC, vinyl, polycarbonate or any chlorinated plastic — they release corrosive or toxic fumes. If your part calls for one of those, tell us and we will suggest a substitute material or route the job to 3D printing instead.

Send vector artwork (SVG, DXF, AI, PDF) for cutting, or high-resolution raster art (PNG, JPG at 300 dpi or better) for engraving. If you only have a sketch or a photo, our CAD team can prepare production-ready files for you.
Quotes are based on material, sheet usage, and machine time. Small one-off jobs are usually turned around in one to three business days; production runs are scheduled and priced per batch, with quantity breaks. Rush slots are available — call ahead if the deadline is tight.
Laser work combined with 3D printing
Because everything happens under one roof, we regularly combine processes: a laser-cut acrylic face on a 3D-printed backlit housing, an engraved wooden base for a resin figurine, or laser-cut gaskets for a printed enclosure. One purchase order, one quality standard, no handoffs between vendors.

Frequently asked questions
How thick can you cut?+
The 150W CO2 laser cuts up to roughly 20 mm acrylic and 18 mm plywood or MDF in a single pass. Thicker stock can sometimes be done in multiple passes — send the drawing and we will confirm.
Can you cut metal?+
A CO2 laser does not cut bare metal. We can engrave and mark anodized aluminum, coated and powder-coated metals, and stainless with marking compound.
What tolerance can you hold?+
Typical cutting tolerance is ±0.1 mm on flat stock, with machine positioning accuracy of ±0.05 mm. Kerf is roughly 0.15–0.3 mm depending on material and thickness, and we compensate for it in the file so slots and tabs fit as drawn. Natural materials like wood and leather can move slightly with moisture, so expect ±0.2 mm on those.
What file format should I send?+
Vector files (SVG, DXF, AI, PDF) for cutting, and high-resolution raster images (300 dpi or better) for engraving. If you only have a sketch or photo, we can create the file for you.
Do you supply the material?+
Yes. We stock common plywood, MDF and acrylic sheets, and can source specialty material on request. You are also welcome to supply your own stock.
Is there a minimum order?+
No. We do single one-off pieces as well as production runs of hundreds, with quantity pricing on larger batches.
What materials will you refuse?+
PVC, vinyl, polycarbonate and any chlorinated plastic — they produce corrosive and toxic fumes when lasered. We will suggest a safe substitute.
